Hi,

I'm looking for an all round, all-mountain bike as I do a large variety of different types of riding. Any help you could give would be much appreciated!!

I've recently found an Ex-demo Whyte 46 for £1500, and am trying (if it’s possible) to compare that to a brand new Cannondale Prophet 2 for £1100, or a Prophet 1 for £1500. The Prophet 1 has exactly the same frame as the Prophet 2, however upgraded sus, brakes, cranks etc. Is it worth the extra £400?

In '06, the Whyte had fantastic reviews, 10/10 in many magazines, however as its a '06 model, would the technology on it still be of a better standard as the prophets?

I'm really not sure which one to go for. The Cannondales come with lifetime frame warrantee, whist the Whyte only has another two years on its warrantee. The Whyte bike is a large, and at 5'10'', I've heard that may be too big for me, (unfortunately I can't test ride it).

Any help anyone can give would be much appreciated, cheers!
