I'm looking to get into road biking as a means of transport, i.e. travelling to the next village about 15 miles away, rather than riding the bus. I work at halfords (dont kill me) so i get discounts on their bikes.
Anyway.
The bike I had my eye on is a carrera gryphon - hhttp://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/sto ... yId_165710
I like the upright ride position, and i want to be able to use this in all weathers so the disc brakes are a good asset
the price in my store is £300, with staff discount that's £255, but with the c2w plan i can pay for it in 11 monthly payments of £12.80, which adds up to be about half the full price. would this be a good bike to last me a few years?
Anyway.

They are ok but I would pay a little more and get a Vanquish. I have one for commuiting and it is better thank I thought. The boardmans are better still but will be a fair bit more.0
