Man have i had a crap day and its only 10.30.

I have spent the last week fixing up the drive train of my bike with new cain rings bash guard and rear casett and cain as well as replaceing for spokes on my rear wheel.
and this happend.

Got up early to get out for a bike ride...... clocks have gone back why have an extra hour in bed when you can get an extra hour on the bike. So i pack all my stuff and head of to stainburn. Bimble up and back down the short red loop to warm up and make shure every thing is working ok b4 i hit the full down hill run.

get to the Top of the down hill run and set off down 2nd jump and it fires me off a bit sideways and after hitting hte brakes and scrubbing my speed i sholder barge a tree.
I was feeling a bit off form but still lets give it a full run and i should shake of the cobwebs.........
Continue down the run as as i came out of the tree line and onto the large rocks my front wheel lost gri and fell off to the right of the trail in to the bog and stuck fast pitching me over the handle bars. face first in to a tree stump. got out of the bog and had blood running down my face ( bust eyebrow, cut nose and busted lip.) Quick check of the bike and down i went to finish the run.

As i started to push the bike up the hill i noticed a bit to play in the front of the bike. thought i had busted the forks or the head bairings...... well thats finished my ride out then...... got hte bike to to the top of the hill and the bike twisted. The good news is i dont think that i have damaged the forks or the bairings .

I think alloy will fatigue and then fail whereas chromoly will bend.

Downhill runs on a ht xc bike? not exactly designed for that....go for full suss if dh/freeride/jumping is your thing..6in min travel.
  • How about this? Just to be different....

I tried to look at the Xtension website to see what it was like, but it's a bit sparse. Under constrction.

PS. Could a pirate, ninja or monkey maybe fix your bike?
