the saville is my local
if you did do that route in the order that you took those pictures then you did do it backwards
especially if you did the route down the second part of the downhill
Just behind the train station in Dews. Its classy you know!
So you are in Dewsbury too - Whereabouts do you get to on your bike?0 -
ahhh i live in thornhill, just down the road from the saville, i try to get out every week from home and have worked quite a good loop
we tend to ride from 6:30 to about 9 then have a pint...
rides are about 10-14 miles and we try and cram the best terrain in we can
you should give me a shout and we'll go for a blast0 -

that route (the one you are doing the wrong way round )
how i would make that work is....
i guess you ride through marsden to the B6107 up that road untill you see a bridleway on your right
follow that bridleway up
and up
and up
then when you get to the trail you were on that leads to blackmooorfoot resi
turn left towards the resi
now you will go past the house below the shooting range then round the resi
the resi has 3 sides you can ride around
go round 2 then drop off the side down the steep embankment (woo hoo)
once you have gone over the embankment go in a straight line up to the wall and over the style
straight line down the track (cow $h1t city....) and through the gate over the track and through the gate
follow this track (it bears to the right then down to a gate)
through the gate and right
follow the path to the stream (splash!!!!!)
through the stream and up the other side
follow to 2 gates one in front and one to your right
take the right gate and start climbing (you'll be doing a lot of this for a bit so enjoy)
follow to the road
at road turn right follow the road UP past the cockgrowing stone (yes really)
at the top carry on downhill untill you see the obvious track to the right
enjoy the longest downhill in west yorkshire
at the bottom of the hill have a pint
see you wednesday night
Sounds like a good route. Is there any chance you could post the direct MapMYRide link to this please. I've done a search on it but can't find it0 -
search for dewsbury
you should find my routes there then search by my routes0 -
i'll have a rummage when i get time0
