    I think that also the route for the 3rd day of the tour of wessex next year takes in some of those roads well.
  • Very tough ride, I think quite a few people dropped down onto the 100K judging by the results! Agreed, 50 miles was about 10miles too far for a food stop, especially after that long slog into Simonsbath. Its a shame that there was no real groups formed, we managed to get a chain gang going for a while, but the hills eventually split it up.

    There were a lot of unhappy faces at the feed station, mine included, just after the cut off.
    I felt up to doing the 100 mile, but didn't fancy doing it unsupported.
    Most of us had to set off late thanks to the parking mayhem at the lake.

    Agreed that the course was very tough though (missing the cut off was a blessing in disguise if I'm honest) and +1 that the route did tend to break up groups almost as soon as they'd formed.
