Bottom bracket stripped

Hi folks, The bottom bracket threads on my racer (Derosa) are stripped. Does anyone know what I can do to get this fixed? can they be retapped? Hope thats not the bike goosed............

You can get the retapped for sure if it's a steel frame, not such a definite if it's aluminium. As Nick says, Argos will sort you out. If all else fails you can have the shell tapered and a "threadless" bottom bracket fitted - they are made specifically to cope with this eventuality. Argos or SJS will put you right.0

Argos can handle aluminium they'll just sleeve it with steel so better than original. Last time I had this done was £30 I think. You'll need to strip your frame, chainset, chain will suffice I thnk and get it to Argos or your LBS might be able to assist here and be a staging post with them having an account with Argos.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Many thanks for the answers.... the bottom brackets measure 36mm dia by 75mm wide. Most kits seem to say 68shell by various lengths. Any idea how i know if these will fit?
