Boardman comp v Trek 1.5

I am completely new to all this and am looking at purchasing my first road bike. I've narrowed it down to the Boardman comp or the Trek 1.5 but don't understand all the techy stuff. Are these models comparable? What are peoples opinion on which will be a better purchase? (forgetting the Halfords aspect of the Boardman bike). Many thanks

    Simon, I am having a similar dilema and have been trying to work it all out. I think they are so close that it comes down to looks and preference. I was drooling over the 1.5 today in my lbs (Local Bike Shop) and found that if pushed I really do prefer the look of the trek.

    As I see people have done before though I have completely abandoned my initial £600 budget and am schemeing about ways to get my mitts on the new £1k Boardman Team Carbon, I am a very silly boy.

    My opinion... go for the looks, the spec is similar so go with what you will look at and think.... 'boy I want to ride that all day'
