    Cateye.

Seen a few bad reports of the Blackburns.

searh here for Fenix. Lots of threads. Dont get Cateye unless you go for the more expensive models because they just arent bright enough.

My EL530 is almost unusable. It will light an are ther size of a 20p piece at 100 metres but nothing either side of it. (slight exaggeration but you get the point)

I've just got an EL530 and it seems fine.... I ride on a short track on Hampstead Heath on the way home, pitch black, no lighting, lots of tree cover, and it lights the way very well - enough light to ride by. Mind you, I only just got it, so the batteries are fresh. Cycling + seemed pretty happy with theirs as well.

Take a look at this thread:

Shows the EL530 capability pretty accurately in my opinion.

That Tesco AA light is £10 with another £6 for a lockblock mount.

I would recommend a Fenix instead of the Tesco though - a whole different league.

Also look at the Smart 0.5W rears - they are the brightest LEDs I've seen and only about a tenner.
