Ivan Basso
Welcome back Ivan I wonder why I've lost most of my interest in a sport which I used to love ? For the record a few of my favourite riders used to be Stephen Roche , Marco Pantani , Johan Museeuw , David Millar , Tyler Hamilton and Ivan Basso .

Yea cycling was losted without him??
What was the 10,800 Euro he had to pay? Was that his earnings for the year that the UCI are taking off riders once they've been banned?0 -
He's no match for the bravery of Samurai http://www.cyclingnews.com/photos.php?i ... ike_Basso2
Just a cheating liar with no credible results. Has anyone heard him bragging of his training alone Rocky Balboa style that some people admired him for? I made a point of checking esp after the hero worship he got on here in 05-06 when he said he only trained alone as that was the only way to "make something special" (his exact words) in terms of performance...it was strange as an attitude to his peers as I pointed out on C+ ....the focused psyched loner...but hanging out with Fuentes and his intermediaries! Any comments he's made on his training during his ban have involved him pointing out that he is training with friends...cause he's trying to change opinions and make himself look like someone anyone would like, rather than remind people of the drug stained loser he is. His charity work...yuck yuck, sick bucket required. I'd say he's worse than the American sociopath and manipulator0 -

What's interesting is that this is the Ivan Basso testing regime, no news on his team's testing.0 -

thought this was a tad odd, the other day, when reading:
http://www.mapeisport.it/IvanBasso/default.asp?LNG=ENtoo much glue and too little sense0 -
"Ready for a Clean Comeback"?? Doesn't that imply a dirty past then? I thought he'd denied actual doping and only thought about it?
What happened to those questions that we thought Basso should be asked by the magazine?0 -

I had most of those too; I rode the etape the year Tyler one the same stage with a broken shoulder; I also followed Ullrich, Zabel but Millar shook me the most.
Tbh, my fave rider was Axel Merckx, he never won THAT much but what does that say? I cant remember which year it was he missed the time cut on a mountain stage and was ejected, he sat slumped overb his bars and not a sound could be heard, how many that made the time cut cheated? We'll never know
Anyway, as the rules dont state they cant come back, welcome back Ivan, in fact to all returning pro cyclists, welcome! if you've been caught yet or not! I am ready to be duped again! Lets make 2009 a vintage year for the sport!0 -
Onto serious matters

What's going on with those photo's? I've got nothing against Ivan, heck, I'm pleased he's back but the family photo's just seem to cynical.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
The message: I'm Ivan Basso, regular family man - I'm alright me!0

Pass the sick bag. It's Hello! style and he's exploiting his kids to lend an air of innocence.
"Papa, will I be as tall as you when I grow up?"
"Sure bambino, eat up your greens and take 200mg of subcutaneous Somatrophin bi-weekly and you'll be even taller."0 -
at least they toned down the euro trash fashion this time around0

"You can never lose your family". "A man who doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man".... "Fredo, you're my older brother, and I love you. But don't ever take sides with anyone against the family again. Ever." Okay, maybe that last quote was a bit OTT.
I like him - he's a top pro who is 6ft tall, man I need a role model that isn't a midget. Clean or cheat. I can't complain about being overheight with him around.--
Obsessed is just a word elephants use to describe the dedicated. http://markliversedge.blogspot.com0
