which bike?

i'm looking at getting a new bike up to the £750 mark. i'm looking at the trek 1.5 and either the specialized allez or allez sport, if anyone has either of these and could give me their opinion or if there are any others worth looking at in my price range any help would be appreciated.

    Have a look at Planet X bikes - I just got a Planet X Superlight Team 'clubman' and I'm very pleased with it. UK company too.

    I think the Giant Defy 2 is around £725....I have last years SCR 1.5 and would recommend the Giant as a starter/winter bike.
    17 Stone down to 12.5 now raring to get back on the bike!

    i've also seen a new Specialized Allez Elite 2008 which i can get for £550 would this be a better buy due to the better compnents?
