They are either really bright, or they are bright for 5 minutes and then each led starts blowing
Anyone had a go?

Look like shite to me, and going a rating of one similar from the seller, it's definately crap..
"Front bike light a joke a candle in a jar would be brighter, Waste of money !!"0 -
Got to love the asians though for some of the tack they produce.0

cracker toy?0

You get what you pay for. What fool would cut costs on something important like lights ? :shock:0
-
Me, I have no money, 2 kids and a rising mortgage lol.
I wish I could afford some of these bike lights, but not possible.
So need to buy as cheap as possible.0 -
And how much have you spent on your MTB ? ;-)0

Free
Got my focus super bud from C2W
Made 1 payment of 13.50, then got fired LOL
and they never asked me for the money which is like 1000.00 worth of bike.
So HAPPY DAYS.
Oh and got a better paid job 2 weeks later, talking about landing on your feet.0 -
A mighty cunning plan ! Curse my employer for not doing this scheme.
I NEEEEEEED another bike !
Good luck anyway - but stay safe - as you said earlier - you've had three cars pulling out on you in the space of a few days - so you need all the help you can get !0 -
True, might have to wait until x-mas, or put a candle on my head.
Keep lighting it at red lights. LOL0 -
If a headlight would suit you and you want good variation of light aswell as 150 hours + of burntime.. I HIGHLY recommend one of these:

It really is VERY powerfull considering..0 -
At work so cant get ebay, will check when I get home.
Thanks0 -
Last year I got a 21 led headtorch for 6 quid. It was brighter than my exes 1watt Black Diamond IQ 40 quid headtorch, and still going strong today.0

Well is supersonic is impressed it must be alright.
Will do some reasearch, then again is only like 5.00 so have not got much to lose0 -
I bought exactly the same set a week ago
I'm not loaded and it has 3 levels of brightness and 1 flashing mode. I only use it for my 3 mile commute and use it on flash, it certainly attracts attention which is what I bought it for and the batts have been great so far!!
I think it's great for the money
Certainly the back lights crap but I bought a superflash for that.Sink the eight ball. Buy the lady a drink. And nobody knows my name.0 -
Ha! I bought a front and rear light from ebay again from hong kong - including postage cost £3.52. Amazing
The front light got a crack in it putting batteries in but still works, the rear flasher stopped working every time I hit a bump on the first ride and fell off and smashed on the second ride to work!
I then bought 2 rear lights from Tesco for £2.66 each, it rained and they broke!
Will I ever learn...... there's no such thing as a free lunch!0 -
The front light in that auction is the exact same housing as my ever ready head torch. Mine has a halogen and a small LED assembly in. It's a good head torch, for the price, but it'd be a HORRIBLE mountain bike light- tight beam, poor side visibility. Also, I don't think it'd like vibtations much.
If you just want lights to be seen by, I got a set of these from this guy:

The rear light is pretty darn good. Also has a KITT/cylon left right sweepUncompromising extremist0 -

Or these for cheaper:

The front isn't the brightest light in the world, but it does alright. Very reliable, long lasting, durable, and you can put them through hell and they still work...0 -
I thought they were quite cheap ad naff.
It looks like they either work or they dont, just try your luck.
Thanks guys.
I am doing some research into the Hope 1
A few people say they are quite good, will have to buy a charger as cant be throwing 4 batteries away every day or two.
Thanks again0 -
I'm not saying they are good ;-)
I am saying they are better than some overpriced lights we see in the UK. 1 Watt led headlamps are simply not enough for off roading.0 -
Hey
I would never ride off road at night.
... Well I would never say never but I could never afford the lights that are needed to do it.
My kids make sure of that..
Plus I can always wait until morning, but im sure its a rush at night going 20 down the mountain,0 -
If it's just for being seen, they are fine. Well mine is.0
-
Canada - two fenixes and you can offroad. I do with mine. Just havent got a mountain to try it out on !0
-
Cougie.
Your missing out.
Same as road, but imagine up and down curbs through trails, and I can keep up to most road bikes.
Give it a go.0
