Didn't Fignon leave that Tour in disgust during one of the earlier stages? He got wind of the others using EPO and realised his training and efforts were going to be a total waste of time and so pulled out. Or was that 1990?

Then he joined the Gatorade team in Italy to learn the new methods

He quit the 1990 TDF cause of a crash...he was crap from 1990 onwards and where did you get the story of him leaving a race cause of EPO...I followed every detail of that era-your memory fails you or you made it up......but he hasn't complained like Lemond. As for his move to Gatordade...no results, caught for 6 minutes by Indurain :)

He won a stage in the Tour into Mulhouse with Gatorade after a solo breakaway.

    Good stuff that Gatorade.

He gave an TV interview a while back saying he lost all motivation in the race, I can't remember which one it was. He keeps himself to himself these days, although he is a TV commentator in France and runs a holiday centre in the Pyrenees but his private life and cycling past remain quite private.

Clearly that was the one and only stage when Dave popped to the loo & missed the winner.

No Calv  I watched the stage...Fignon dropped Konychev and won. Zulle the young EPO user did some heroics too...it was all Zulle the new great white hope at the time. As I get older I feel I hate them

I have sympathy. However. I think its always a good rule never to hate someone who doesn't know who the hell you are. There's only one loser there.

Mottet though, now there's a classy rider. Seemingly robbed of the Giro by Gianni Bugno and Dr Ferrari

Who won the 1990 Giro? We laugh at Pat for dismissing retesting. I think Mottet won.

Hey Kleber, near the end is the following of Fignon on his way to a DNF . Was a good stage though, and Lance Armstrong DNFd on DS orders to save himself for future years, Gotheteeshirt2 did one of his best races IMO, Cipo DNFd.. but hard to respect the power climbers who ruled in the end..
