Emergency Stop / Unclip

I use a stretch of disused railway track on my commute. The access point is a sharp muddy/cinder S bend and up a 20yard steep cinder incline usually done at a reasonable pace. Some B*****D has tipped a load of broken wooden Cr4p across the whole path on the blind bend. In total darkness ( 06:15 ) apart from my lights.... I had to perform a Emergency Stop / Unclip / Flick the tail round….. all at the same time, then get off and carry my trusty steed over it. Totally Pis**d off at the fly tipper but mightily impressed with my manoeuvring abilities at such an early hour…As usual nobody else to see it. :x

I bow to your snappy footwork - are you Fred Astaire?
I tried a track stand in traffic once - fell over in front of a big pick-up truck.....never again!0 -
...my homeward off road route is littered with garden and building rubbish dumped by pikey scumbags...some of it is dumped in really hard to get to obscure places so whoever is doing it is very determined... ...all the way...'til the wheels fall off and burn...0

Well done, I'm all about doing the mad endo into trackstand when dozy peds step out in front of me, gets some pretty strange looks when you're clipped in doing endo's, hands on the hoods...
I managed to navigate an s bend of two right angles with a 1m transition between them at 17mph this morning, right on the edge of grip, i was most pleased with myself. These things are going to happen a lot more now i've got a speedo/HRM i think.0 -
I think it is quite surprising how easily you can unclip your SPD's in an "emergency"
I recently had one where I managed to unclip, put my foot down and lift my front wheel up and to the right to avoid hitting a car that pulled out of traffic on me. I was filtering down the right of stationary traffic and had seen her come across but as usual she was looking left as she pulled out so I was anticipating having to stop, but not in such a grand fashion :-)0 -
Have you reported the flytipping ? Is it a Sustrans path ?0

A dozy pedestrian steps off the curb without looking.
I usually come to suce a sudden stop on my pompino that I end up going onto the front wheel only, with my hands still on the hoods.
This is promptly followed by my rear wheel returning to the ground leading into a near flawless trackstand whilst clipped in
If said pedestrian notices then they are usually fairly amazed...0
