Got a severe chafing the other night in the old nether regions. 1st time this has happened. I wear Assos shorts but I suspect they were not completely dry from the morning ride to work. What's the best remedy to heal the wounds and who should best apply this?

As for the application, surely the ladies are forming an orderly queue? :P"I think the phrase rhymes with Clucking Bell"

Good link...however, for the love of god make sure you get the correct stuff...the thought of putting muscle rub on chaffed nether regions is something that should be preserved for extreme Japanese TV games shows.<insert witty comment here>
Also, I have calculated my FCN as 12...although I have no idea what that actually means.0 -
2 things - 1 keep the shorts clean. 2 try using a chamois cream. Assos do one.

OK, thanks guys. Now off to Mothercare to get the cream. Do I have to lie on a changing mat or something when applying?
Thnaks for the tip gtv- been there done that though. Ah....memories of my University days. Is the King Street run still popular?0 -
+1 on all the above comments.
Sudocrem is great (and cheap). Try and get your kit dry asap after the morning ride. I tend to get in a bit earlier than my colleagues so I drape kit over a fan: most technical kit dries pretty quickly that way. The worst thing is to bag kit up while it's still damp... eugh0 -
i find a changing mat very useful, but get strange looks from work colleagues when i disappear to the disabled toilets with it and a tub of cream
chamois cream is the way forward

+1 for Sudocrem
Also worth raiding from the baby's basket are wipes, which clean a frame better than anything else known to man.0 -

Get's my vote, since using it never had any problems.0
