Hi!
So I'm still waiting for an On One Inbred frame to be delivered and no one there would answer my emails (awful service so far) after they confirmed they didn't even have in stock when I bought it online! Don't think they could care less!
Question is: I have Forest of Dean in December, one full week and I'm stuck on the choice of a dedicated front tyre. Not too heavy, however, but not racey either (i.e no Nobby Nics and the like, please).
Any ideas?

I often ride FoD,
It'll likely be quite wet, and in terms of the ground there'll be a mix of mud, rocks and roots- so probably no guaranteed wonder tyre! If you find one let me know
Mountain King 2.4 (got the black Chilli compound) are ok and shed mud ok. I find them not so good on loose stone, but there's not much of that in the forest.
If I had to buy a new tyre in your position I'd go for Maxxis Highroller and run it at a reasonably low PSi. Works well in most conditions.0 -
Thanks for suggestion... never been to the FoD, so expect big things from a whole week there.
I understand Mountain Kings can be hit and miss due to the tread depth.
How about a Conti Vertical protection, 2.3? Or a Maxxis Ignitor? My On One Inbred and Com Meta 5.5.1:

Oh, yeah, trhe rampage! Might just go for that, seems so enthusiastically recommended everywhere. The 2.35 sounds good.
Must find the best price first. There's a Sport version of Rampage, much cheaper.

It has a low tpi casing, not as supple or resistant to punctures
I'd buy the 'proper' rampage rather than cutting corners with your front tyre.0 -
Agree totally! Thanks. My On One Inbred and Com Meta 5.5.1:
