SPD clipless shoes

Anyone use spd shoes that are fully recessed so you don't actually sound like a horse clipping along they all seem to slightly sit proud of the shoe, really would like some quite shoes so i can use them at work?

I have some shimano ones that were about 40 quid and they are pretty noiseless. They are lace-ups

I have some ones made by specialized called a 'taho' which are fully recessed - just like wearing slightly stiffer trainers!

ok thanks but it does seem that spd shoes are not reccessed quite enough so there will always be a slight clicking noise from the shoes

Mine don't make any clicking noises...

I also have the Speciaized Taho shoes which are very comfy and look ok too.

Nope, nothing. Unless one of the bolts works its way out, then I hear it.

I've got a pair of specialized MTB comp, which I use with Crank Bros Candy pedals and I can walk fine with no clipping noise from the cleats.

I have shimano m122 and mw80 both recessed spd's and you don't hear any clicking at all

I've got MTB shoes with the cleats fully recessed, the cleats don't touch the floor, but the tread on the actual shoes are pretty hard and make a bit of a noise - I still wear them though.

Thats where my shoes are different i can feel the cleats grind on the floor does this do damage to the cleats?

Walking in road shoes has to be weirder. I cross a muddy level crossing on some days - I have to walk on my heels with my cleats fully off the ground to avoid filling them with mud. I am glad its quiet there.
