My old aldi shoes are finally ready for dumping and these are an excellent fit and replacement...however I have a question. I have a set of cleats that fit the shoes...but no backplate for inside the shoe so that the cleats can be attached to the shoe. Can I buy a backplate seperate rather than a complete set such as these...

Also If I buy this set of cleats a waterproof seal is not included (did not come with the shoes either) can I buy this also?....or does it matter?

The plate is part of the shoe, and won't come with the cleats. Unfortunately, I've never actually seen the plates for sale as spares... Could you pinch the ones out of your Aldi shoes (they may need some modification)?

You might strike lucky and find somebody on BR has a pair up for grabs.

for the waterproof seal I've dabbled with silicone sealant but now using Duck Tape.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

The plate does comes with the cleat, unless it's a road shoe that has them built in. I know this as I just bought a pair of cleats a couple of weeks back. The plates from your aldi shoes would fit just fine (assuming they aren't built in) as they will be the ones that came with your original cleats and pedals anyway. They are a standard fitting, not specific to a model of shoe.

I changed my rusty cleat plates by lifting out the insole and prising up the flap inside the shoe that covers the cleat plate cavity.
