Its about this time of year i start saving up for my new bike.
At the moemnt i have a avalanche 2.0 with LX brakes.
I mainly ride XC and always go GT as i have never had a problem with them so i dont see a need to change. However ive heard of a new brand called Cube and was wondering what others think about them and if they are much better over a GT.
The other thing i have is that i could just go for a GT zaskar carbon frame and put all the parts i want on it. The only thing is that i dont think hot wheels just sells the frames. Im all very confused. So basicly
How are Cube compared to GT
and should i just go for a GT/Cube frame and build it up myself?

Thanks

Each to there own, I guess. I have a Cube as do a few others on here. I like it a lot. Decent spec for the money, but let down by poor forks.

Not sure if you'd be able to buy a frame only though

If you want bang for your buck, try Focus bikes.

I got a full suss xt equip, full fox front and rear and wicked rims (mavic crossride)

    1000.00

Cant complain, I seen a cube for the first time in my Lbs a ams pro i think its red with fox and it looks sweet.

I think and now will be looking when my focus gives up the ghost at a german or other european bike.

Not saying that the frames are not good on the english or amaerican or canadian bikes are inferrior. but the parts are better i think,

    US/UK you get lx stuff
    europe/german ect. you get xt.

Thats one of the things ive seen with cube they tend to be more value for money. and they seem to have nice frame designs all around rather than better designs for better bikes.

I was looking at the cube, and the forks did let it down, a 1000.00 bike and it had like crappy suntour shock, but the rest was ok.

I cant understand why they do that.

Thats why I opted for Focus

I guess something has to give spec wise. Its down to which fork and groupset do they go for, and Cube obviously went for groupset. Mine is XT, Truvativ and Hayes Stroker
