MTB's and child seat fitment problems?

I see alot of MTB's have the front derailleur cable running down the top tube and then down the seat tube which goes through a boss on the seat tube.
Now clamping a child seat around this would i guess be impossible due to the seat boss...correct?
If so what other child seats could you use and would the bike having hydraulic brakes cause fitment issues of the taxi child seats (ie pannier fitment) which is another option i was considering.

Cable stops and discs can cause problems as you suggest. The only real way of ensuring a fit from the myriads of combinations is to visit a shop and try a some on the bike.0
