Hey guys,

I'm just wondering what is lighter, Specialized M4 frame or Specialized A1 Frame.

Thanks

M4 is regarded as the better (lighter) frame set

Yes, M4 tubes are generally a bit thinner, and the material is of higher tensile strength.

I may be wrong here but doent the number signify the number of different alloys used in the metal that they make the frame with, A1 being just a single alloy blend whilst M4 using a mix of 4 different alloys to make it lighter and stronger??

I have vague memories of reading this somewhere a while ago so my ragged mind may be playing with me on this one.

Well M4 is used on all the higher end bikes so I'd hope it's better!

My Stumpy and wife's Rockhopper are both M4.
