What are the SRAM Double Tap 9-Speed Shifters Like?

I have a Cannondale Bad Boy Ultra with X7 shifters, I want to put a pair of X-9 shifters on the bike mainly because of the Zero-Loss and crisper shifts. Unfortunately I don't like the lack of gear indication, however the SRAM 9-Speed Double Tap seem to be a good option. Are they any good when compared to the X-9's?

Rear mech is X9 and I will be using the X9 bottom pull/low clamp.

As far as I am aware, the double tap technology is for road shifters/brakes only.

Sorry just found a link to X9 double tap, though I can't find any info on SRAM site itself.
