reba vs revelation?

Hi All,
I know it has probably been asked plenty of times before but hopefully my question is a bit more specific....

I have a old hardtail - unknown ally frame, duke SL forks. Frame angles are pretty relaxed, about 68 deg head with the forks on max (115mm). I like it and it suits my riding (xc but more fun than fast).
Trouble is the dukes are knackered and I am probably looking at close to £100 to rebuild. Now I can get both the reba SL and revelation 426 for just over £200 from merlin and I am tempted....

Now on paper, with my existing frame the reba is the obvious fork, with the revelation I would need to reduce the travel to 115mm to get the same angles I have now.
However (and now I get to the point), I am also thinking of a frame upgrade - an On-one Scandal is top of the list.
The scandal has steeper angles, I am guessing that to get something similar to what I have now I would want the 130mm length of the revelations.
So, my idea is that I get the revs, set them to 115mm with my existing frame. When I upgrade the frame I have the option of going to 130mm to keep the angles slack.

Any comments? Does this make sense? Anyone tried the scandal with a 130mm fork? It suggests on the website that it will take it without problems.
The only real downside of the revs over the reba that I can see is a 100gram weight penalty or have I missed something?

Toby

basicaly it come down to brake fittings.
and 130mm Rev or 120mm Reba (All travel).

yes the Rev is heavier but that is due to the U-turn.

    brake fittings - hmm.. I didn't look at that.

So the reba's are post mount and the revs are IS?
I think that makes my decision as I have hope IS mount brakes!

btw. you mention U turn. I though the revs "Travel Adjust: All Travel 115/130mm" meant there was some internal spacer you need to change to affect the hight rather than a u turn?

    thanks,

internal spacers to remove as part of a mini service.

not that it matters as you are getting the Revs

that is the rev spec i was quoting.....

Or have merlin got the spec wrong on their website?

Sorry, but I get a bit confused by all the options on the different rockshoxs!

Opps sorry both are All travel.

    Mind was on something else.
the difference the revs have 10mm more travle and the step downs in travel are the same 15mm.

    So back to the brakes.
