Does a Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub have the same chain line a fixed hub?
I would like to run a bike as 3 speed with the option of running at a fixed by swapping the wheels out.

Well....not all fixed hubs have the same chainline - even varies according to cog used. Are you using an old SA 3 or the new SunRace? I haven't one to measure and the SunRace tech sheet doesn't give it, but with 118 OLN (old and new I think), the c'line must be c. 41-46. If you get the FIXED line right at c.44, then I doubt that the geared line will be more than +/- 2mm, surely close enough?

I am considering using an SA 3 speed 1995 model on a Royal Enfield Revelation 20" wheels (451). Fixie Inc I believe make a hub with a larger than 42 chain line but I need a 118 spacing or 120. i ma off to Mercian tomorrow so they may know?0
