New Fork Advice

I have a 2007 Rockhopper currently with a Rock Shox Tora fork. I've been riding my bike pretty hard now for about 18 months and am toying with the idea of switching to an air fork, reducing weight and increasing stiffness etc. I like the idea of fitting a fox fork and have been impressed by the reviews of the latest F120 RLC.
My main concern is what difference would I notice by switching the fork out for one with an extra inch of travel? Should it be done?

No, the bike is designed for 100mm of travel, and I don't think is warrantied for more. And you certainly won't increase stiffness with a lighter fork, the Tora is about the stiffest QR fork on the market.
Could look at the new Rebas0 -
F100s? Or Fox Vanila 140s -which with a spacer (provided) can be reduced down to 100mm.0
