Sabbatical Application

I hereby formally apply for a sabbatical from the Silly Commuter Racing Thread. In support of this application I do solemnly swear to tear about my commute at ridiculous speeds (never trying of course), throw my hands in the air with a cry of 'Chapeau' if ever I pass a scooter and come for Friday night beers if ever I am told they're on.

It's all got too much, I can't keep up with 10plus pages a day and if I don't lose my job for overuse of the internet, I will lose my wife as she tires of my blow by blow accounts of who posted what and to whom.

Dearest friends I shall return, but I really must clear my intray first. I shall still skulk about other threads and post as much unhumourous bilge as my workload supports.

    Litts, even a person as work-shy as I am is feeling the strain of the pages upon pages of the thread, it's gone mad, mad I tell you!

    We will be sure to post new threads for beerz so you can still rant about your scalping prowess...

    Ah but the sudden drop in keyboard related activity might make our employers suspicious and the withdrawal mood swings, phew!

    WARNING the SCR is a very powerful drug any kind of rehab needs careful psychological & medicinal assistance, if possible at all.

    I feel like I am in part responsible for the thread turning into a monster and going off topic all the time.

    Though its a skill to go back to a thread 10 pages later and know what everyone is talking about. You don't need to read every post since you were last in the thread all you need to do is skim read and look out for any direct replies to yourself.

    I learned this from a comic forum! You think you guys are bad try following a thread about Wolverine vs Batman! Jaysus!

    Since SCR is so fundamentally ridiculous I think combining it with chat and nonsense makes perfect sense. If there were a separate chat thread then the SCR thread would either become po-faced or just turn back into a chat thread spontaneously.

    So let me get this straight - in order to reduce the time you spend posting on the forum you have created a new thread, an new thread that opens you up to all kinds of abuse.

    Not sure how this one's going to work.

    DDD, I really don't think you are the sole cause of the SCR thread veering off topic so often!
    After my comment (back on circa p. 297) I mentioned about hating that fine rain on my glasses! This then spawned several pages on the benefits of contact lenses and laser eye surgery and GT calling most of us "wang eyed".............

    If you think the SCR thread is totally random wait until you join the drinks! It's like the thread but 10x faster as everyone talks (obviously.........between drinking or eating McCoys)

    Also FWIW I think Wolverine would win:-)

    Errrr and thanks for the tips on laser eye surgery and who would win out of Batman vs Wolverine

    Gaaaaaaaad I love you guys...who could ever find a more likeable bunch of merry minded mad-capped insanalists worthy of their own asylum...BRILLIANT!
