Lovely cycling moments...

Cycling through Greenwich park at dusk, seeing a fellow cyclist stationary in the middle of the main carriageway through the park, I slow down to see whats wrong.
There is a lump in the road next to the cyclist and I realise he was guarding a stunned baby squirrel in the middle of the road using his bike with full lights as a shield to passing cars...
How sweet was that???

If it was grey he should have left it. Horrible virus they spread0

So he was guarding vermin then? Rats with fluffy tails?
Sheeesh.
Can I suggest the only sane thing to do is grab it by the tail, pick it up, thwack a few times into something solid, job done?'Twas Mulga Bill, from Eaglehawk, that caught the cycling craze....0 -
I saw a cat minus its head splattered over the road the other morning. I quickly deduced that it had been hit by a car. Probably couldnt call that lovely though. Sorry for ruining your thread.Cannondale F500

I cycled past 3 or so miles of stationary traffic yesterday on my way home yesterday. Had it not been for the totally mashed car that caused it, that would've been one very long lovely cycling moment.....Emerging from under a big black cloud. All help welcome0

I saw two crows trying to drag a squashed squirrel to the side of the road, whilst trying to avoid the same fate themselves...0 -

Todays toll....
Rode past 2 dead badgers, a dead fox & numerous dead squirrels, rabbits & rats today.
Even a dead polecat.
There's more dead stuff to be seen here than live wildlife in Africa.Embrace cynicism…. see the bigger picture!!!!0 -

Yesterday I saw a lion rip the head off a Meercat, a load of fish getting eaten up by a whale and the remains of a cow on a plate served up with gravy and potatoes.
I should probably stop watching nature programmes while eating my tea.
Grey Squirells like rats and pigeons are fair game, though you probably don't want to eat any of them thesedays.
Living in Red squirrell land I rarely see Greys.Do Nellyphants count?

The mad old woman who threatened to shoot me the other week said good morning and warned me about some broken glass yesterday. Which was lovely.0

Squirrels in Dundee
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/tay ... 668039.stm
HoweverHowever, Mr Neil is concerned that some people do not understand that if a grey is trapped it must then be killed.
He said: "Grey squirrels are by law pest animals and therefore if you catch a grey squirrel you are legally obliged to dispatch it.
"We have suspicions that people have been catching grey squirrels in their gardens because they do a bit of destruction to bird feeders and we've even had instances of them chewing through boards and getting into people's lofts and chewing through electrical cable.
"We're slightly concerned that people have been trapping them in traps and bringing them up to the park and letting them go and it's illegal to do that.
"People must understand that if they're catching greys they actually have to either contact someone who can dispose of them or do it themselves - that's the hard facts of the law."Do Nellyphants count?
