  • Is it just me or are a LOT of depressed PhD Chemists on the forum?

PhD - required skills: determination, and excellent word procecssing skills in order to turn a sow's ear into a silk purse.

:lol::lol: At least I can legally call myself "Doc Brown". icon_smile_tongue.gif

((and for all you lot whinging about doctors calling themselves doctors, shutup, it's my only consolation okay? I worked 3 years for the capital "D" and another 3 for the little "r". And at the end of it, I even smudged my actual piece of paper with a big greasy thumbprintgrim.gif... but just to clarify I don't go 'round introducing myself as a doctor... none of my official mail is labelled Dr.))

Try working in Chemistry outsourcing - Knowledge Gap? What knowledge gap?
PhD chemists in my field (organic) are ten a penny and get paid peanuts because of it.

It's nice that you recognise the skills required to get a PhD, aside from being a reasonable scientist - most employers outside of science, and a good deal within science treat people with PhD like lepers!
Please spread the word amongst prospective employers!
