A Sportive map

So, I'm trying to plan my rides for next year and it occurs to me that what I need is a map showing when and where all the sportives are. There didn't seem to be one around, so I started making my own on Google maps:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&mrt=all&ie=UTF8&num=20&msa=0&msid=109460187137575702728.000458e90c484269e5f22&z=6
(The idea is to have different colours for spring, summer etc. so that I can have a spring ride in wales and a summer one in Scotland)
I don't know if I can be arrissed to finish it, so if anyone knows of an equivalent I can use instead...

great map just what i've been waiting for.suggest you publish it on cyclosport.org and mark mightl help finish it. its now in my favorites.0

Like it, keep at it! Regarding the cluttered effect all you have to do is zoom in and everything spreads out nicelyIf you haven't got a headwind you're not trying hard enough0

Fantastic. I'll probably link from my club message board for our 2009 sportivers.
Thanks for the effort of putting this together.0 -
Great job.
Last year cyclosport had something like this, but they have decided not to this year.Rich0 -
Might help to clarify seasons...
i.e.
CycloSportives
Green = Spring (Mar?-Apr?)
Red = Summer (May?-Aug?)
Yelloy = Autumn (Sep?-Oct?)
Blue = Winter (Nov?-Feb?)Rich0 -

this is really excellent.
i love the volcano.
2 issues though:
1. it is a shame that some of the url's in the bubble are not clickable. (I just noticed, as I write this that you fixed it on some other (later?) entries. nice one!
2. the map doesn't show all entries at once: just the ones from the "page" of results on the left. can you force the left pane to show all, hence putting everything on the map?
i don't know enough about google maps to hunt the answer out for myself I'm afraid!0 -
Just fixed issue 1.
Issue 2. is annoying, though. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of settings for your standard GoogleMap.
I may have to seek out something a bit more sophisticated. Ideally I'd want to be able to filter by date range and also ride type - allowing us to have sportives, charity rides and audaxes. (I shall be adding the rides from the lists on the other current thread.)
Once I've sorted all this out, I'll set it up as a collaboration project and we can all keep it up-to-date.
(This is starting to look like a new hobby in the offing. Probably marginally more fun than a turbo.)"Check your sheds! Check your sheds! I think I've lost my mind" Half Man Half Biscuit0 -
Great idea.
In terms of ones to add; I did a good one around Swindon in late April this year (the White Horse Challenge). It was a good ride, I'll be there again next year.

Great effort, really useful site. Hampshire Hilly Hundred in May was an excellent event (link below) - and fills a big open space in your map...
Looking forward to the Euro expansion phase!
