You could get a custom hose made up to use the right unions for any other master cylinder, but it's pretty pointless really, the hose would cost too much to make it worthwhile. So you certainly could do it, it just makes little sense.

but then the cylinder sizes will be wrong. and the seal materials will be wrong.

so you will have a set of brakes that dont work well and will fail.

Heh, i wrote a longer response here but deleted it because there didn't seem much point ;)

The cylinder sizes may be different, and that may mean it works less well, but the differences will most likely be fairly similiar, and the use rmight actually prefer the change- there's no one perfect ratio. Some people like an oversized m/c because it reduces travel, frinstance. But it'd be a gamble, because unless you're working with known quanitities it's really impossible to predict end results. Not a very good plan for most folks. These days there's so much choice that you can get the result you want reliably from off the shelf, so no need to gamble

Seal material is trickier- it won't neccesarily be wrong but yep, some will be incompatible. As long as you stick to calipers and m/cs designed for the same fluids, it'll not be an issue though.

But I deleted all of that, because I figured once you've established there's no point in doing something it makes no sense to give any more details :)
