finally got to ride my new bike yesterday, after a few problems.
Basically my bike was delivered last week (Willier Mortirolo mirage), opened the box up and all looked really nice, put the bike together but noticed a few problems as i did this. First thing i noticed was one of the fixings on the frame which the gear shifting cable runs through was hanging off, must have been damaged in transport. Then as I checked over the bike again I found out that they had sent me a large frame instead of a medium. Bugger!!!!
So on the phone I get to inform of the problems, turns out they dont have any mediums in stock. I wasnt very happy. Turns out though that they do have the Veloce groupset in a medium which they can do for me at a discount due to their f*ck ups, this cheered me up quite a lot.
so new bike arrives on monday, and the old bike is sent back. Was pretty gutted that it didnt arrive on the friday or saturday cause the weather was really nice last wknd.
So all week im waiting for the wknd, and hoping the weather is nice.
Saturday dawns, lovely sunshine and not a cloud in sight....perfect.
After a quick trip to te LBS for the cheapest set of flat pedals they have (my look keo classics had failed to arrive, but i wasnt lettig this stop me) and I was ready to go.
First thing I noticed was how quick the bike was, everything on it felt really good. Infact, I got a little bit too comfortable because I didnt really plan a route so I just kept riding and realised I had no idea where I was going and subsequently became lost in the countryside. It was all fine though cause I was eally enjoying myself!
Anyway I managed to workout my way home and got back a good 3 hours after I set off, feeling very tired with aching legs and a very sore bum!
So all in all my first ride went very well, delighted with the bike, and I only had one person shout abuse at me on the road, however it was a guy on a motorbike so I couldnt really hear what he said, he could have been saying "wow man, your bike is so sexy", but probably not.
Bring on more sunny wknds!

Well that's a mighty fine choice for a first roadie!
Rubbish service though, where did you get it from? Amazes me that they sent you the wrong size hoping it would do.
Anyway welcome to the forum and road biking. The addiction starts...Specialized Venge S Works
Cannondale Synapse
Enigma Etape
Genesis Flyer Single Speed

there was a bit of a mix up because the box was labelled medium. I'm not really complaining cause i ended up getting a better bike for a very small extra fee.
just need to get used to the pedals and shoes, got myself some shimano r131's0 -
love my mortirolo, not much can touch it for the price IMHO. 8)0

Love mine as well. It's my first road bike too - got a black one with Centaur in the sale at the end of last year and have loved every minute of my rides on it. Haven't much to compare it too, but it has felt very quick, good up hills as well - very responsive when I put the effort in and push harder on the pedals. Also got the Shimano R131s - they've been good shoes so far.
On the subject of Wilier, anyone know where I can get a jacket like the chap on the left in this piccie?:

Splendid! Now I can take my obsession with me wherever I go... If I had known this would happen to me, I may have thought twice before I headed into the LBS and set eyes on my Mortirolo...
Many thanks, a_n_t.0
