Ultra Torque problems

Having a nightmare trying to service an ultra-torque chainset.
1- Any tips as to how to remove the bearings from the chainset?
2- And this is a seriously dumb question but bear with me... Should the bearing assembly on the none drive side be completely within the cup when fitted properly? IE should I only be able to see crankarm flush with cup when installed properly. I think the bearing assembly that fell to bits on the old set is stuck in the cup. How would one remove this?

You need a special bearing puller to remove the bearings - they are a press fit. Conventional pullers don't work because you simply can't get under the edge of the bearing. The bearings sit right inside the cups, there's only a small gap between the crank and the cup. The bearing is a sliding fit into the cup, so unless you've got the retainer clip in place, any remnants of the bearing should drop out.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
