Dunno about the weight but i personally think that they're not very good.Grip wise they're ok but longevity leaves a lot to be desired.Depends where you ride, but have a look at my 5 month old Eskar:-

The sidewalls are threadbare!!!Most of my riding is in the Peak District/Yorkshire Dales which are quite rocky.
They're very similar to High Rollers grip-wise.
The sidewalls feel paper-thin compared to the Rampages i've just replaced them with.
  • They are fine tires to start with, I have several friends who like them, who also ride enduro's.
You don't say what riding you do. If you say what riding you do, then we can advise/give our point of view...
Maxxis Swampthings are great for a front tire if you are riding the really rough stuff, ditto the High Rollers. When my friends go to the Lakes, they generally go for one of these two.
If you want fast XC, I'd go for the Conti Speed King Supersonic's as they only weight 430g for the 2.3in or 400g for the 2.1in tires. They don't have the protection of the heavier tires, but they go really fast....Wish they did a 29er version.

FCN 3 or 4 on road depending on clothing
FCN 8 off road because I'm too old to go racing around.
  • i ride trails but mostly rocky trail centres in wales. i just got the bike yesterday, and my first ride is gona be Snowdon, and that is rocky to max. sound like they might be a good tyre then.

    Not on Rocky trails :(

Also a tip:-Is the bike new?If so keep an eye on the Attitude adjuster, mine packed up after 3 rides,Specialized told me that "an unknown"quantity of the forks had been laquered on the INSIDE of the left fork leg, resulting in the attitude adjustment failure(it crept back to full travel). It was fixed and 6 months later is fine 8)

Might not be what you want to here but the 09 Enduros hit the shops in November, the Comp and Expert are now fitted with a FOX float(comp)and Talas(expert)the expert is now £2399  Only the S-works has the E-150 shock now. They've fit the 32s and not the 36s and the fork looks too skinny

I had the non s-works eskar 2.3s on my Pitch and they were ok apart from in the wet when they were horrible!

Maxxis High Rollers now and they are much better.
