Cheap rear wheel and trainer tyre for turbo trainer

I got a Minoura MAG500R turbo trainer for my birthday this weekend, and plan to use it over the winter with my Boardman comp road bike. I don't want to ruin the road tyre that's on it, but I also plan to use the bike outside on dry days so don't want to have to keep swapping tyres.

So I think the best option is to buy a second rear wheel which I can fit a turbo trainer specific tyre to - something like this: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Continental_Ultra_Sport_Home_Trainer_Folding_Tyre/5360017042/

I don't want to pay a fortune, so can someone please recommend a suitable cheap wheel (700c) and cassette which will be compatible with my shimano 105 9 speed rear mech?

I bought an Askium race wheel including casette, tire, tube, skewer for a total of 110 pounds. wasn't a great deal but that was okay for me.

Another choice is to go to your LBS and ask for a second hand wheel..... I did that first for half the price but got a slightly bucked wheel which I took back but the theory is sound.

I have a Reynolds alta comp rear wheel in my garage (the front one was run over so bought a new set) which takes a shimano cassette you could have this for a nominal fee 30 quidish Im in the Birmingham area if you are interested. The wheel was only on my bike for 3 or 4 hundred miles. I even have an 10 sp ultegra cassette which had about 1200 mile on it but changed it as I wanted different ratio which I could also throw in would need to make sure all the bits are there but Im sure they are. let me know if interested

Unless you fancy reindexing the rear mech each time, you want to get a hub and cassette from teh same manufacturer as your current ones.

As I understand it 10 speed cassette will work with a 9 speed mech just won't get to one of the cogs not sure whether the bigger or smaller one I am sure someone will clear this up though if you ask or they read this. The freehub is shimano so if you don't want the cassette just get a 105 9 spd was just offering as it keeps the price down

Isn't the spacing between the cogs slightly bigger on a 9 speed? If so, you'll need to tweak the barrel adjuster each time you change wheel. Which is what I thing Big Red S was alluding to.
