i've recently bought one of these gadgets that tells you what % of fat is in your body. What is ideal/acceptable for us cyclists?

  • I've been told that idealy, for men at least, %18 is about right.
the machines that you buy in the chemist and that gyms use are notoriously in consistent.

Lower the better I think until you get into single digits. However gets harder as you get older. Had one for 4 years now and was sort of motivating to see % drop from 25 to current 14 but plateaued there and doubt will go lower.

However readings are consistently inconsistent. Higher in the morning than the evening (couple of %) and higher on exercise day than recovery (from 2-4%).
