I'm told these are a lot of bike for the money as the brand is just gaining ground on the mtb market. Problem is I don't know anybody who has a Flt mtb.

Never had one but I read somewhere that the geometry isn't quite right for everyone -short top tubes.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

I've got a custom build around a RXC pro frame and i love it.
Really well finished frame, light, and the geometry is just right for me.2012 CAAD10 RS80 C24

Guys - looking at the Felt Compulsion myself also. How's mud clearance?0

I got a Felt 720 and i`m well happy with it ...Best to go to a dealer and take a closer look and see how it feels0

IIRC, the short travel ones with the equilink work really well, but it didn't translate into a longer travel platform very well.
I'd testdrive one because these seem a bit marmite...0 -
I own the Compulsion 2 SE and from experience I can say it's a great ride.
I weigh just on 200LBS and am just under 6 foot tall and the Compulsion 2's 19.5" cockpit fits me perfectly. The raised bars on the Compulsion 2 SE suit me perfectly
The BB has ample ground clearance, the Equilink rear suspension works well preventing rear end bob and the 95-140 mm Pike front forks work very well too.
The Fox Float-R works well but the long term I may opt for a Fox RP23 rear shock to allow more custom rear end tuning
Standard tires are Maxxis Ignitors 2.35, these work well, but I have experienced a bit of front end wash with these once or twice
The Juicy 3 brakes bring the package to a predictable halt, the SRAM shifters are silky smooth and generally I find the bike responsive, forgiving and easy to recover if you get out of shape.
As for long distance, I can pedal it all day, in fact I did over 30 miles of singletrack yesterday and could have done 20 more if the sun hadn't set. I've also ridden it in anger at Swinley Forest too. As an overall "all mountain" package, it's a great piece of kit
I opted for DMR V8 pedals and have fitted a Crank Bros. Joplin seatpost to aid me in the technical sections.0 -
