Chainsets for a prince

Anyone got any suggestions for a quality stylish chainset preferably italian. Just bought a pinarello prince frame (red/black) with bora wheels . the setup like bars, stem, seat post are all pinarellos own branded M0st equipment but not a big fan of their chainsets. it has a sram red drivetrain but hate the sram red cranks and cant really mix campag and sram without being lynched by the campag fraternity i ride with. Had a look at alot of options but nothing really fits, any ideas welcome

The bb and chainset branded most is not sram it is fsa with their new chainset, cost about £300 I think.
I have them on mine but would not fit them again.
Be very careful what you fit.
The bb area on the prince is very large and the fsa chain set I have is a pian because there is almost no clearance between the small ring and the fram and if you ship the chain it is physically impossible to ship it back on using the changer, you have to get off the bike and even then it is not easy as chain gets stuck betwwen inner ring and frame.
Luckily it only happened once to me.
I pointed this out to Pinarello when I was in their shop, also the FSA rep took pics of my set up, so make sure whatever you use provides correct clearance. My mate has campag on his and clearance is a bit better than mine.0 -

If Pinarello see fit to give you this combination perhaps your riding buddies can take their super record shifters out of their a*ses and give you a break already.0

Extralite? Italian & light0

Option 1: Remove SRAM Red and apply Super Record throughout (preferred option)
Option 2: New Fulcrum RRS - all the goodness of Super Record (well, nearly) without offending your faint hearted/ vain riding buddies.
Surely they're up in arms about SRAM Red on a Pinarello anyway so it's not going to make much difference...
FWIW I've ridden Red, Force, Rival, DA, Record and FSA and found the Red rings less durable than either DA or Record. FSA just kept coming loose and falling off though it did look nice before it fell off. Momentarily.0 -
Why did you get it with Red just out of interest? I have nothing against SRAM - never even tried it but if I was buying my Pronce again now I'd be holding out for Super Record...
Oh and I;d try the Fulcrum chainset.
Fulcrum = Campagnolo in disguise.
Enjoy your Prince, I think I may well be in love with mine.

I'd flog the MOST bar and stem as well, only cos I don't trust carbon bars/stems to survive in a crash. So it's Alu all the way there for me.
Also word to the wise, be bloody careful not to crash (obvio you will) but if you do go down on the driveside then be careful as the rear derailleur hanger is not replaceable. I f*cked mine up on the Etape! Luckily the Genius mechanic at Sigma managed to get it back into alignment.- 2023 Vielo V+1

clavicula cranks? not italian but pretty and a bit different.0

How about something rare and exotic? I recommend the Miche Supertype Carbon cranks. FRM and PMP are probably still about, making cool components too.
Here is a picture from their importer in Taiwan. The Miche homepage does not list their products at the moment...

Yeah, CF bb too, but no rings for only £695
I like the complete absence of flashy graphics too, on apparently the cranks with the highest stiffness to weight ratio on the market. 420g, utterly droolworthy!0 -
i like those princes but didn't realise it's a non-replaceable hanger.
would never buy one in that case. good luck if you whack that.
on the chainset ... i second the Fulcrum recommendations. if you are going compact make sure it's 50-36 and not the 34 inner ring0 -
Even though they are alloy, both FRM or PMP would be worthy alternatives, but I don't see why you shouldn't fit the Fulcrum ones or take a look at Time. The pinch bolt arrangement on the Clavicula is hideous.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

The Tune cranks look pretty tasty IMO, and you can get them in different colours. You live and learn. At any rate, you live0

They are pretty nice, I've got my eye on the set in my LBS, be perfect, if overkill, for my pompino...0

got it with sram because its better than shimano in my opinion, and hands are too small for campag cant press the button properly :x otherwise i would have campag all over it. admit campag does look the best0
