Hi,

Does anybody know any good Chainstay Protectors that would fit on a Specialized Rockhopper Disc 2008? Also, would it be possible to add a chain ring thing (forgot the name) to stop my trousers getting caught?

Thanks Alex

Specialized do their own for about a tenner which're designed to fit.

You wont be able to add a chainguard easily, to the best of my knowledge. It's normally only on chainsets far lower down the range that you have the available mounts.
You could probably bodge one on, though.

A bashguard is an alternative, but would involve losing the big ring.

Trouser clips (available in non-dayglo) are probably a better solution.
  • Yeh, ive seen the specialized ones, there is a universal one which i might buy.

Best chainstay protector I've had was a tennis racket grip (one of the fabric ones) wrapped round the chainstay, looks really good (on my silly little bike)

Alternitively get a lizard skinz one.

+1 on the tennis racquet wrap - or hockey stick wrap.
