Did all the Merida bike marathon's this year.

Have to admit i really enjoyed these, ok weather wasn't great, but to meet up with people of like mind was the making of it for me. So my question is what other similar events are there to do in 2009. Any recommendations for other marathons? Was able to complete the 50km rides, but next year hoping to do a bit more. Thanks in advance.

The Meridas are good fun, but to be honest, the 50ks are a waste of petrol in my opinion.

You should maybe attempt a 75k next time and then go for the big 100k the one after.

Also check in your local areas as to what other challenges of races are on.

Cyclocross may also be worth a go, if there is any around. I havent done one myself yet, but a shorter duration than a xc race and supposed to be great fun.
