Just put in for a subscription having bought a couple of back issues last month. I really like it. Yes, £9 an issue is pricey, but I'd say there's more reading in one issue than you get in a couple of £4 monthlies (perhaps not on a straight word count, but on time spent and enjoyment). On the strength of the two issues I've seen, the articles are a good length, much more detailed than your average monthly, and the photography is superb. The mags look and feel really good as well - good production values, to the extent that they don't get read over breakfast for fear of finger prints/spillages...

You could always try before you buy by picking up a back issue - although if you have to do this by mail order they'll sting you with a £4 handling/postage. You'll see where some of this cost goes, however, as it's a sign-for delivery in a Rapha plastic wallet, all heavily packaged up to avoid corner bashing on delivery. Some cycles shops do stock copies though - Edinburgh Bicycle and Condor, for instance, I think.
  • It's an excellent publication. The photography is superb. Think of it as a 'coffee table' cycling magazine.
