Hi I am after a pair of winter shoes that will keep my feet toastie and dry I have narrowed it down to either the ' Northwave Celsius J GTX' or the
'Shimano MW02' the only thing that is putting me off the shimano is they look quite awkard to get on and off. I shall be wearing the shoes everyday for riding to and from work. Advice would be welcome on these or any other boot, I don't really want to go above £80, wife thinks i should wear £2.99 dunlop wellies
thanks

The Shimano MW02 has been discontinued and now replaced by the MW80 . Merlin has them for £80.

They are easy to get on and off as the ankle cover is split with a Velcro closure. They do keep your feet dry but will have to wait until in the depths of winter to see if they keep your feet warm. As with all Shimano shoes they are sized small so if you order on line make sure you get a size bigger.0 -
I have a pair of Northwave Celcius, bought last year, keep my feet toastie. Only problem I have in heavy rain is the water can run in the top. The Shimanos with the neoprene arond the ankle might be better from this aspect.
I need to think how I seal the top of my Northwaves as rode the Viking Challange today. Toastie feet half way then squelched the rest as water finally got in the top of the boots.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

nothing will keep your feet dry during a long ride in rain, it's warmth you need.
The shimano mw02 shoes lasted me for 1 winter before the seams come undone. my wife's have lasted 3 years though.--

Could try some Sealskinz water proof socks with any old shoe, then just change sock and shoe at work. As long as you have water proof trousers on your feet will stay dry.
I got the medium ones and if really cold just wear thin socks under them and stays warm. Only £22 or so too0 -
I've been looking at simular purchase too. Having asked the guy's that I go out with they all seem to agree that in the end water runs down the legs and so you still end up with wet feet. The seal skinz are recommended because of the fact that at least they do keep the feet a little warmer, but the trouble I have is that if I go for the thermal seal skinz socks my shoes are to tight. Compromise is to try the mt500 overshoe with the mid seal skinz socks, which still comes in cheaper than a pair of boots? :roll:0
