yes currently got a trek fuel but knackered my front forks at dalby forest yesterday!
i know its only opinions but thats what i'm after
so whats yours??

Can't say I've tried that many all rounders at that price! But a big fan of the GT Idrive system, so I would personally shortlist a GT Force.

or what is it that you dont like about the Trek that makes you want to spend more money?

iv not looked at that one mate to be honest
i'm quite interested in the orange 5, cube stereo and marin mt. vision
any experience of those three?
i wana test ride them all but not sure how to go about it

I'd consider Nicks advice too - fix what youhave if you can! Dalby isnt that demanding a place to ride unless doing the DH type bits.

I had a Mt Vision years ago, but much different now.

Sounds like you want an "All Mountain" machine for things like the trails at Dalby and presumably decent Lakeland/Yorkshire Dales/Yorkshire Moors routes. I've got a Commencal Meta 5.5.1 which is excellent though not entirely weather-proofed for Britain - unless you get a frame and build it up with Hope stuff! Orange 5 & Santa Cruz Heckler, are others to consider.

To get a test ride find a friendly dealer - like JD Cycles in Ilkley will let you take a Meta out for a good test ride! I had mine out for a whole weekend in the Yorkshire Dales and also tried a Giant Trance and Scott before deciding.
