I have the 2 x C size torch. Standard batteries 1.5v each
Have tried rechargeables which are 1.2v each.
Cant get torch to work with the rechargeables ?
Does it need the full 3v to get the LED going ?
If so, could I overvolt it - say 3 x 1.2v rechargeab;es - take it apart, use the LED and rebuild with say a separate battery pack ?
Could I volt it any higher ?
anybody done this got any instructions a duffer could follow ? !!
Lastly if I can find the AA version would that work with rechargeables or am I going to find the same ?
Thanks.

AA version does work with recharables (however, needed to file mine out a bit to get them to fit) don't see why the 'C' cell version should be any different.______________________________________________

Tried several other C rechargeables but wont work. I think you can get C s in 1.5v online. Hoping this will fix it and will keep looking for the AA version.0
