Car hijackings

Don't remember seeing this on the news or anything, but it seems to be a warning email going round at the moment. Quite worrying if it is true . . . . . .

This actually happened a few weeks ago on the M3 Fleet services. It was early evening and a young girl stopped to get petrol. She filled her tank and walked into the store to pay for her petrol. The cashier told her 'Don't pay for your petrol yet.....walk around the store for a while and act as if you're picking up some other things to buy. A man just got into the back of your car. I've called the police and they're on their way'.

When the police arrived, they found the man in the back seat of the girl's car and asked him what he was doing. He replied, he was joining a gang and the initiation to join is to kidnap a woman and bring her back to the gang to be raped by every member of the gang. If the woman was still alive by the time they finished with her then they let her go.

According to the police that night, there is a new gang forming here originating from London. The scary part of this is because the guy didn't have a weapon on him. The police could only charge him with trespassing....

He's back on the street and free to try again. Please be aware of what's going on around you and for your family and friends.

Bllsht. All the hallmarks of a made up spam story. I can't even be arsd to check it on www.snopes.com. Anything that starts with "This actually happened..." is usually made up. What annoys me is that people say..."well even if its is made up it still makes you think". Maybe it does, but only as much as a horror film does. Its just a bllsht story designed to frighten people but mainly designed to get forwarded around the world on emails. Delete and forget.

Yep, complete crap. Firstly would the guy be stupid enough to admit that to the police? Secondly the police would charge him with something more serious than trespass (which is a civil offence anyway)

So he just fully confesses to conspiracy to kidnap, conspiracy to rape etc

Sounds so believable. He's not even been arrested and he is singing like a canary

So he's just admitted a conspiracy to kidnap, and a conspiracy to rape and the police let him go? Really, not likely perhaps he may be charged and remanded in custody and face a prison sentence in region of 5 years plus

One genuine bit of car crime worth flagging up for any Kent-based Cake Stoppers; my girlfriend lives in Canterbury, and her mum has recently had her petrol tank siphoned empty during the night - twice in one week! It seems that cars with centrally-locked rather than old-school key-locked petrol flaps or caps (a newish VW Polo in this case) are being targeted, so keep an eye out for anything dodgy.

  • Actually, something like this really did happen to a friend of mine.

Driving down a back lane she had to stop due to someone having put a pram in the middle of the road, so she got out and moved it. While this was going on a car came up behind her, and as soon as she got back in the car they started flashing their lights and bibbing their horn furiously. She drove along for a bit with this car behind her and rang her father to meet her because she was pretty frightened by it all. When she got to the place her dad had agreed to meet her, she stopped and the other car pulled in behind her. At this point a bloke got out of the back door and ran off. They'd been trying to warn her all along.

This didn't happen. (BIG BIG BIG full stop)

Admitting this in this way, would be good evidence of conspiracy to commit said offence.

    Here's another of equivalent veracity:

Fleet services is sandwiched between Gibralter barracks, Royal Engineers base Minley Mannor and Elvetham Heath an estate for some of the countries highest earners. All a recipe for inner city gang culture. doesn't help that the security at Fleet Services have all served as Gurkhas, not half as efficient as your half arsed fat man just off the dole.

    Total bollocks scare story

I've heard about gangs on continental motorways who target foreign tourists.

When you stop for petrol they puncture one of your tyres with something like a bicycle spoke. This means your tyre goes flat a few miles down the road and you have to stop. They follow you, wait for you to half unload the boot of your car to get to the spare wheel, then rush up, grab what they can and drive off.

Not exactly a hijack but not a nice thought either.
