I am thinking of buying a new bike and the LBS as 2008 XTC Alliance's on offer. I can't find any reviews on them anywhere, so don't know if it's worth considering. I have been hanging my nose over a Trek 6700/8000. I mostly ride fairly flat trails due to being from Lincolnshire.

I looked at the Trek 6700 in Evans, WOW what a superb looking bike. Out of my budget though

The Alliance is very new - reveiws will take a while to filter through.

It does look a very nice bike, but I wonder how well the ali/carbon bonding will last.

The bonding techniques are very good. Can't say I have heard many reviews of frames coming apart made this way.

When I went back earlier this week the LBS had sold out and couldn't get another one. So I've bought a Trek 8000 and I'm picking it up tomorrow

It has to be the o9 model it's lush im picking my 6700 up at the end of the month cant wait.
I love my singlespeed but i cant wait to get another mtb.

No it is the 08 I got a good deal so hopefully tomorrow will be giving it a thrash can't wait, it's unbelievably light compared to my old rigid Raleigh.
