I might be getting a DMR Trailstar2 Custom fitted with DJ 2's but mainly Hammer Down XC Trails and Trail Centres in the Summer....
DJ's any good for this..?

IMHO no. A guy who rides with us rides on a jump bike with the RockShox Argyle (wrong in the head) - similar to the DJ's and he has a hard time.
I would see how much you would get for them on ebay or here, and put money togeather for some XC forks.0 -
I think you'll be ok with DJ2's 2008 but if they are 2009 with those 3kg you'll suffer.
Plus XC on a jump bike should be done only by shorter people, under 6ft.0 -
The dj2's will survive, but they're a pretty basic fork, with little in the way or adjustment, plus being designed for intermittant big hits they don't take well to the constant patter of xc. Look for some argyles with motion control for djing and xc/trail abuse.
Or if you want cheaper, try the all steel toras with MoCo
For ultrabling try the marzocchi 4x0
