Hi people, ive got the stock Avid BB-5 on my Trojan at the moment but am looking to upgrade to Hydros but am stuck with a choice of four, can i have some help please?!

Avid Code 5- these are really strong brakes i hear and look pretty cool but im not sure i need them for a jump bike?- http://www.evanscycles.com/products/avi ... m-ec008687

Avid Juicy 5- Juicys are always good but not sure if they're powerful enough and look a bit plain- http://www.evanscycles.com/products/avi ... 8-ec008691

Magura Louise Freeride- Heard mixed reviews about these but I know Magura is a quality manufacturer and i like the fact its a different choice from default Avids but not sure about the looks, think they look a bit plain to be honest- http://www.evanscycles.com/products/mag ... e-ec006745

Hayes Stroker Trail- These brakes have the great new lever design and look awesome in white, especially as I have white Argyle's and white rims! these are the ones im veering towards i think but would greatly appreciate some advice!!!- http://www.evanscycles.com/products/hay ... h-ec008764

The hayes are very good, and more than adequate for your need.

Any of those would be an upgrade, personally I have the Stroker Trails and don't regret it. I would have bought Formula's though if I could have gotten hold of white ones at the time.

I run juicy 5's and they are very good. The only issue I have with them is that they have no pad adjustment so you have to loosen the whole caliper and reallign it. This is mainly an issue if you take the wheels off and put them on again.
The juicy 7 has adjustment. I plan to get one for the front so that I can pop the front wheel off to transport the bike, put it back on and adjust the pads more easily.

Got the Trails from Merlin for £140 - but they dont do the white version [shame as my bike is white].

Work very well, but adjusting the caliper for pad adjustment is a bit of a pain.

[see Evans are doing the carbons for the same price if you are a weight weenie?]
