Buying New Bike - Advice Required

After 15 years away from the dirt I have been enticed back and am looking at ride options.
My main road ride is a Scott Addict so I want to keep the MTB in the family.
The LBS has a used Strike Pro with Carbon frame, full XT and Fox shocks that has only done about 2 hours on the dirt. Price $3500 AUS, new list price they tell me was $4800.
It seems like an alright deal to me as it looks immaculate but as a relative newbie would welcome any opinions.

Take it for a test ride - see how it feels. A lot of money to spend, so ensure it is right for you and the terrain you ride.0

I have that all lined up for this weekend.
I think I am mainly worried about the longevity off the carbon frame, I had gone in to get a Spark 50 but the Strike seems to be better value with the higher end components.
Thanks for the help supersonic, will let you know how I get on.Scott Addict
