Please bear with me, I am a newbie to this part.....

I need to decide what gauge chain to run on the langster I am building up. I intend to run t fixed / free with a 48/16 freewheel and 48/18 fixed.

I have already purchased this chainset & bottom bracket

Does this force me down the 3/32 or 1/8 path? Or is that decision still open to me?

Thank you for your help.

The option is still open to you - most, if not all, singlespeed chainsets should work with both a 3/32 and a 1/8 chain. It does matter for the rear sprocket though, i.e. you must buy the correctly sized one for whichever option you choose.
  • ok. thank you.
  • just buy a strong chain, I like the connex Z1star chains. They look great and are very tough.

Not exactly. You can use a 1/8 chain on a 3/32 sprocket but not vice versa.
