For a guy who fancied himself for the Giro overall, won a stage and was hoping to represent Italy in the Olympic MTB race, Simoni's been conspicuous by his absence since mid-Summer.
'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'

    Endurance mtb racing, pretty successful i recall.
