If I were you I wouldnt start in Derry, some of the best scenery in Ireland is further North in particular the coast road from Larne (the port north of Belfast) to the Giants Causeway.
Stick Causeway Coast Road in google and you'll get a better idea
Will give some thought to a better itinery and come back to you.
May be an idea to combine train and bike, though the railway in NI is poor

You could give this some thought, it would be a big ask in just 3 days

Malin to Mizen sounds good has anyone done this is it difficult i.e lots of climbing ect how does it compare to Lands end John o'goats?
looking at it quickly think 4 days would be a more pleasent askMy bike

If you are contemplating long distances per day, I would recommend doing it South to North. That way, you get the prevailing wind with you. It makes a hell of a difference.0

Can't comment on the railways in the North, but in the Republic they really, really don't like the idea of taking your bike on their trains, I guess it gives people an alternative to using their buses (parent company owns the national bus company too).
Unless its a folder, in which case it is OK, except if it is folder on the bus, sorry under the bus, it has to be in a bag otherwise its an (last time I asked) €11 charge, and it's down to the driver to allow it anyway.'Twas Mulga Bill, from Eaglehawk, that caught the cycling craze....0 -
